Lanikuhonua Beach - Where the Heaven Meets the Earth in Oahu, Hawaii

Lanikuhonua Beach - Oahu, HawaiiLanikuhonua Beach is a small, picturesque beach on the west shore or leeward coast of Oahu, right behind JW Marriot at Ko Olina resort. This beach is protected by an offshore reef which forms a natural lagoon with shallow water, an ideal spot for young kids to swim and play. There are also excellent snorkeling opportunities as well as sea turtle sightings.

Also called Secret Beach, Lanikuhonua, which means "where the heaven meets the earth," is one of most beautiful places in Oahu. In fact, it is one of the most popular venues for beach weddings in the island.

The beach has rocky areas that are excellent for wedding pictorials and patches of fine golden sand ideal for sun bathing and picnics. Palms and other trees provide shade. Sunsets here are also breathtaking.

The beach is always almost deserted on weekdays but can get packed with locals on weekends. It is a favorite venue for luaus. Facilities include grassy lawn, restrooms, showers and parking.

Swimming beyond the protective reef is discouraged as the massive waves are dangerous. The area is often times roped off to prevent accidents.
